Celebrating 150 Years of Redemptorist Devotion.
During the audience with Pope Francis on Wednesday 30th September 2015, the Superior General of the Redemptorists Fr Michael Brehl CSsR got the opportunity to meet with Pope Francis. Fr Brehl presented Pope Francis with a copy of the original icon of Our Mother of Perpetual Help which was written by Polish Redemptorist Fr Eugenio Karpiel CSsR.
The gift was given to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Blessed Pope Pius IX presenting the icon to the Redemptorists with the mandate “Make her known to the world”
