Died Peacefully at Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast on Saturday 18th June 2016- R.I.P.
Bro. Michael’s remains will arrive at The Monastery Parlour on Friday 24th June at 10am.
His remains will be removed on Friday evening to the Church at 5.30pm for 6.15pm Mass.
Funeral on Saturday 25th June after 12noon Requiem Mass followed by burial at Milltown Cemetery.
Br. Michael Gilleece, Born 6 September 1931 (Kinawley, Co. Fermanagh) Professed 22 February 1960 (in Canada) and died on Saturday 18 June 2016 in the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast.
Br. Michael, who came from Kinawley, Co. Fermanagh was born on 6 September 1931, as a young man he emigrated to Vancouver, Western Canada where he worked in an oil refinery. After some years there, having become acquainted with the Redemptorists he joined the Congregation and was professed for the then Edmonton Province, Western Canada, on 22 February 1960. About 1969 he came to Clonard to train in youth work and was instrumental in setting up the Clonard Youth Ministry. While in Belfast he applied for a transfer to the Dublin Province and about 1973 the transfer became a reality
