Redemptorist Associates groups were launched in the Dublin province in June 2007. Currently there are Associates Groups who meet regularly in Clonard Monastery Belfast and Scala Cork and plans are underway to set up other Associates Groups in the Province in the coming months.
The purpose of the Associates is to create a space where people from all walks of life, both lay people and Redemptorists, gather together, to learn more about the Redemptorist story, to reflect on faith and life issues and to pray, in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Associates meetings are usually held on a monthly/bi-monthly basis, with the theme/topic for each meeting planned in advance and meetings are open to everyone. All are welcome. There is no formal application process to join the Redemptorist Associates and there is no expectation that once people get involved, that they must attend all our meetings.
Working collaboratively with lay people is a priority for the Redemptorist Congregation and that is reflected in our Associates structure, where meetings are planned and facilitated at a local level by lay people and Redemptorists, working in partnership, in an atmosphere of mutual respect and openness.
We have an Annual Redemptorist Associates Day, to which all who are connected to our Associates groups and anyone who is involved in Redemptorist Ministries in the province are invited. These days are great opportunities for making connections with the wider Redemptorist family. In May 2012, a group of Redemptorist Associates and friends from the Dublin province went on pilgrimage to Italy; ‘Walking in the footsteps of St Alphonsus’, visiting the places associated with St Alphonsus and the establishment of the Congregation.
This monthly text of prayer ONE BODY is meant for our communities and individual confreres as well as our lay associates or friends of the Congregation who wish to use prayers inspired by the Redemptorist charism. It is issued as a response to the many requests of confreres all over the world. Read the Monthly prayer text in each PDF file below
